Introduction: 

The Silent Crisis Affecting Our Daughters

In many Kenyan communities — both rural and urban — early pregnancy remains one of the most urgent threats to girls’ futures. Every year, thousands of teenage girls drop out of school, not because they lack ability or dreams, but because they were never protected, educated, or empowered in time.

This is why Afya Glow, through its new initiative Power Her Campaign – Say No to Early Pregnancy, is standing in the gap. We are not just raising awareness; we are raising girls with purpose. 💙💛

Why Early Pregnancy Is a Problem We Cannot Ignore

Teen pregnancy doesn’t just affect one girl — it affects families, schools, communities, and the entire country. Some of the challenges include:

🔴 School dropout – Most pregnant teens never go back to school

🔴 Health risks – Teen pregnancies come with high risks of complications and even maternal death

🔴 Poverty cycle – Many girls end up unemployed, unsupported, and raising children in poverty

🔴 Shame and stigma – Teenage mothers are often shamed and rejected, even when they were victims of abuse

At Afya Glow, we believe every girl deserves better. She deserves support, information, and hope.

What the Power Her Campaign Is Doing About It

Power Her Campaign is a grassroots movement launched under the Afya Glow platform with one mission:

To protect girls and empower them to say NO to early pregnancy and YES to education, dignity, and purpose.

Our Key Activities:

✅ School outreach sessions with life skills and reproductive health education

✅ Church-based youth talks with faith-based encouragement

✅ Community group engagement with parents, elders, and teachers

✅ Sanitary pad donations, mentorship circles, and reading resources

✅ Use of digital platforms and stories to create safe spaces

This campaign started in Nakuru East Constituency, but our vision is to reach all 47 counties in Kenya. And with your support, we can go far!

These are the testimonies that drive us. Girls don’t need to be rescued — they need to be informed, heard, and backed up by community action.
