Take the Land: How to Walk in God’s Promises with Courage

Take the Land: How to Walk in God’s Promises with Courage

(Christian Women Devotional – Day 8)

📖 Scripture of the Day

“Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you.” – Joshua 1:3 (ESV)

🌅 Introduction

The Promise Is Already Given

There is a difference between receiving a promise and possessing it.

God had already given the land to Israel.

But they still had to walk into it.

Many Christian women today are standing at the edge of their promised land:

A business God placed in their heart

A ministry calling

Emotional healing

If you’re healing quietly, read our devotional on The Silent Tears Matter

https://afyaglow.blogspot.com/2026/02/day-4-silent-tears-matter.htmlhttps://afyaglow.blogspot.com/2026/02/day-4-silent-tears-matter.html

A restored identity

Financial breakthrough

Leadership influence

Yet fear whispers:

“What if I fail?”

“What if I’m not ready?”

“What if I lose everything?”

But God says:

Take the land.

💡 What Does “Take the Land” Mean Today?

Taking the land is not about physical territory.

It means:

Stepping into your calling

Walking in spiritual authority

Saying yes to purpose

Living boldly in God’s promises

Refusing to shrink back

This is about Christian personal growth and spiritual maturity.

You cannot inherit what you are afraid to enter.

🧠 Why Many Women Stay Outside the Promise

Let’s be honest.

Sometimes the promise is intimidating.

The Israelites saw giants.

They saw fortified cities.

They saw obstacles.

You see:

Competition

Financial limitations

Trauma from the past

Rejection

Lack of support

But here is the truth:

The presence of giants does not cancel the promise.

It confirms its value.

🌎 For the Woman in the US, UK, Canada, Australia

Maybe you are:

Starting a faith-based business

Building a Christian blog

Launching a nonprofit

Pursuing leadership in corporate spaces

Healing from silent trauma

If you need healing, read our blog: Healing is not weakness.

You don’t need another motivational quote.

You need courage rooted in Scripture.

Faith is not the absence of fear.

It is movement despite it.

🔥 5 Biblical Principles to Possess God’s Promises

1️⃣ Renew Your Mind Before You Enter

Before Israel crossed over, God spoke to Joshua:

“Be strong and courageous.”

Possession starts in the mind.

If you still see yourself as small, you will never occupy big spaces.

This is part of Christian mindset transformation.

2️⃣ Stop Waiting for Perfect Conditions

Many women delay obedience because conditions are not ideal.

But obedience does not wait for comfort.

It moves with conviction.

If you wait until you feel ready, you may wait forever.

3️⃣ Understand Spiritual Authority in Christ

You are not entering alone.

You enter with:

God’s backing

Heaven’s approval

Divine covering

You are not fighting for victory.

You are walking in it.

4️⃣ Courage Grows Through Action

Confidence does not come before movement.

It grows after obedience.

Start small:

Publish the blog.

Register the business.

Apply for the position.

Start the ministry.

Movement unlocks courage.

5️⃣ Refuse to Retreat

Many women start strong but retreat at resistance.

But possession requires persistence.

If God promised it — stay planted.

💬 When Fear Speaks Louder Than Faith

Fear will say: “You will embarrass yourself.”

Faith says: “God will establish me.”

Fear says: “You don’t have resources.”

Faith says: “My God shall supply all my needs.”

Fear says: “You are alone.”

Faith says: “He will never leave me nor forsake me.”

Which voice will you obey?

🌿 Broader Life Applications (High Search Topics)

This message applies to:

Career advancement for Christian women

Faith-based entrepreneurship

Overcoming self-doubt

Breaking generational fear

Healing from past disappointment

Leadership confidence for women

Trusting God in uncertain seasons

God’s promises are not symbolic.

They are practical.

💎 Increase Your Spiritual Capacity

Before you can occupy new territory:

Strengthen your prayer life

Study Scripture consistently

Build discipline

Surround yourself with faith-filled voices

The land requires capacity.

Growth prepares you for occupancy.

🌺 Personal Reflection Questions

What promise have I been afraid to pursue?

What “giants” are intimidating me?

What small step can I take this week?

Am I waiting for comfort instead of obeying God?

Write it down.

Then act.

🙏 Prayer for Courage

Father,

Give me courage to step where You have already given.

Silence the voice of fear.

Strengthen my faith.

Help me walk boldly in Your promises.

I refuse to retreat.

I will take the land.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration

Today, I declare:

I am no longer standing outside what God has already promised me.

I refuse to let fear, doubt, or past disappointment keep me from my inheritance.

God has gone before me.

He has prepared the way.

He has given me authority to walk forward.

I am not too late.

I am not too broken.

I am not too small.

The same God who promised is the God who performs.

I will step into new territory with boldness.

I will move even when my voice shakes.

I will trust God in uncertain seasons.

I will not retreat when resistance appears.

Giants do not intimidate me.

Obstacles do not define me.

Delays do not cancel me.

I carry divine courage.

I carry spiritual authority.

I carry heaven’s backing.

What God has spoken over my life shall manifest.

I will take the land.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
